White House boycott of National Day of Prayer?
COLORADO SPRINGS - Organizers of this week's National Day of Prayer still don't know whether the White House will participate. The event's evangelical character earned it a White House welcome during President George W. Bush's eight years in office. But Brian Toon, vice chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, says to date, there's been no mention of a White House observance being held this year. According to an article this past week in the Colorado Springs Gazette, advocacy groups for so-called inclusive dialogue on faith in America are "trying to break what they perceive as the organization's monopoly on the event." The newspaper went on to say that the "Interfaith Alliance and Jews on First sent a letter this month to President Barack Obama asking him to declare that the National Day of Prayer is for Americans of all faiths - and even for nonbelievers." The Gazette also reports that "White House officials have not said whether the Obama administration will formally honor the prayer day." The newspaper said that as of Wednesday this past week, Joshua DuBois, executive director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, had not responded to several e-mails from The Gazette. Meanwhile, Toon emphasizes that Americans of any faith can stage their own prayer gatherings or attend those organized by the task force. Unfortunately, he says some have sought to abolish the National Day of Prayer instead. Amid wars, terrorism, moral decline and swine flu, Toon says there's plenty to pray about. And neither he or VP Biden appear. Nice gesture that should tell where his heart is. He won't be found worsipping the God of
all Creation because his god is the father of lies, Satan.
Obama Sits Out National Day of Prayer as Millions Pray for Him Friday, May 08, 2009 By Penny Starr, Senior Staff Writer (CNSNews.com) - A caucus room in a House of Representatives office buidling was transformed into a place of worship on Thursday, as people in the nation's capital joined with millions of others Americans across the country to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. Members of Congress, religious and military leaders, and ordinary citizens prayed for the nation and for those who lead it, including President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden - neither of whom made any public appearance or speech to mark the occasion. Obama issued a proclamation marking the day on Thursday afternoon, which is required by federal law. Rev. Daniel P. Coughlin, chaplain of the House, led the opening prayer at the event in the Cannon House Office Building. That prayer included the president and other leaders. "As we pray for our president today and the whole executive branch, we all pray Psalm 46 for those who have the leadership over our nation and this country," Coughlin said. "Psalm 46 begins, 'God is our refuge and strength and ever-present hope in trouble.'" "Lord, as we lift before you the president, the executive team, and the legislators that surround him, we pray first of all that you would give them the spirit of wisdom," Dave Butts, president of Harvest Prayer Ministries, said as he led the prayer for the executive branch. "A spirit of wisdom that is from you, that is by you, that is for you and it is all about you. "Wisdom that leads this country to the path of righteousness," Butts said. The morning program featured prayers for repentance and all branches of the U.S. government, including lawmakers, Supreme Court judges, and the military. Shirley Dobson, chairwoman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, was joined by her husband, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, in introducing speakers and prayer leaders, which included Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.), Gen. James Amos, assistant commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, federal judge Priscilla Owen and NFL star Shaun Alexander. Beth Moore, a popular Christian speaker, author, and honorary chairwoman of the task force, was the keynote speaker. She spoke about the importance of prayer for the future of the nation. "We the people of God must remain a sound voice of moral conscience," Moore said. Bachmann spoke about what she considers the true power in Washington. "It comforts me to no end to know that it isn't any human being, it is the Lord that has the government on his shoulder," Bachmann said. "All things are possible. He is our true hope. He is the light of the world and in these uncertain times, it is a comfort when Scripture tells us, 'I am God.'" Remember Always, "Speak the Truth" Your Brother in Christ, Michael |

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says President Barack Obama will pray privately as he does every day,....with his butt in the air? face to the ground, in typical Muslim tradition? How about this little piece of information: This is from a News With Views column posted today: By Dr. Laurie Roth May 8, 2009 NewsWithViews.com " Is Obama the sincere Christian so many believe he is? He told the G 20 folks in his last big overseas series of meetings that WE WERE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION. He gladly bowed low to the King of Saudi Arabia, something a U.S. President has never done. He broke a long-standing tradition when the White House
demanded that the symbol of Jesus Christ be covered up before his speech at Georgetown University on April 24th. This was unprecedented by and
American President. Most recently, former President Bush and Laura Bush spoke at the same podium and never asked for the symbol of Jesus Christ to be covered
up. Obviously, someone has a little issue with Jesus……….hmm."

43Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
